Wine of the Week | Solarce 2001 [Red] The 2001 vintage in Rioja is expected to be an excellent, ageworthy crop. This young, organically grown unoaked red wine is meant to be drunk young, but its color and richness seem to confirm the vintage's potential. A good general purpose food wine that should work well with a wide range of dishes. Bright cherry red/violet color. Clean fresh nose shows red berry fruit and a hint of licorice and flowers. Light to medium body with a pleasant youthful zing, fresh fruity taste, balanced acidity and respectable length. [$L] |
