Wine of the Week | Arzuaga Gran Reserva 2010 [Red] 95% tempranillo, 5% merlot & cabernet sauvignon, malolactic fermentation in new French oak, and a total of 48 months in oak barrels. Only 3,200 bottles were produced. Delightfully complex elegant nose, with ripe blueberry fruit and a host of underlying nuances of spice (nutmeg & cinnamon), vanilla, dark chocolate, cigar box (cedar/tobacco) & coffee, all nicely integrated. Without a doubt one of the very best Ribera del Duero wines tasted to date. I had the good fortune to sample this and several other wines at the winery. A great experience and a wonderful place for a visit. [$H] |
