La Val Vendimia 2016 [White]
Producer: Bodegas La Val
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

100% albariño grapes, vines over 30 years old in the Condado de Tea sub-region along the Miño River, aged on the lees in tanks for 1 year before bottling.

Pale straw/yellow color, clean & bright. Initially showing aromas of dried flowers and hay, then citrus (lime), fruit (apricot/quince) and a hint of salinity. On the palate it's fresh with balanced acidity, flavors of citrus, quince & herbs (bay leaf, thyme), and a mineral/saline touch on the finish. Lovely rich texture and great length. Excellent.

La Val makes an interesting range of wines: varietals, blends, barrel fermented, aged on the lees and even a red made from the local sousón grape. Excellent producer.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
