Wine of the Week | Canforrales 2019 [Red] 100% tempranillo from a well respected producer in El Provencio in the province of Cuenca. Here altitude (700 meters), continental climate and reliable underground water resources are ideal for producing quality grapes. Deep dark red/purple color. On the nose, fruit galore: blueberry, blackberry, cherry and a hint of strawberry, along with licorice and hint of minerals. Rich & concentrated on the palate, fruit dominates, pleasant acidity, good length. Very good now, but still young, a bit of cellar time won't hurt. Great value. Another of my favorites, shows well year after year. An honest, reliable bottle of wine & perfect companion to summer fare: BBQ, grilled meats, etc. It would also make for an excellent sangrķa.
