Wine of the Week | 3 Crianzas 2015 [White] An excellent example of albariño's capacity to develop with age. Produced in a three stage ageing process, thus the name 3 Crianzas. After fermentation: 9 months on the lees, 5 months in tanks and 5 months in bottle before release. Nice complex nose with notes of herbs, forest ferns, dried flowers (honeysuckle), citrus (lime), apricot and a touch of minerals. Crisp & fresh on the palate, smooth & rich with ripe fruit & citrus flavors and a lasting finish. Excellent. A wine to enjoy. Great on the table: delicate enough for fish & shellfish, but with sufficient body to accompany more flavorful dishes. Will keep and develop well in the cellar for at least another 5 years. [$M] |
