Wine of the Week | Viņa Ardanza 2007 [Red] Although 2007 was an awkward vintage in Rioja, this just released Ardanza is delightful. Careful selection of the grapes (80% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha) and extended ageing in used barrels are keys factors for this Rioja classic. Excellent. Dark cherry red color, nice combination of spice (cinnamon, clove, vanilla) & fruit (blueberry/raspberry) on the nose. Silky smooth palate, velvety tannins and a long. elegant finish. A keeper that you can drink now, or cellar for a while. [$H] |
