Wine of the Week | Viņa Arana 2006 [Red] A longtime favorite and a genuine Rioja classic, made from 95% Tempranillo & 5% Mazuelo, aged 36 months in American oak barrels. A wine Rioja fanciers will love and a joy for almost any palate. Great food wine, not to be missed. Medium dark cherry garnet color. Great nose with lots going on: ripe & jammy berry fruit (blueberry/blackberry) with a smokey/leathery aroma combined with spice and a touch of dry herbs. Medium bodied palate, sweet fruit, cigar box, smooth & silky tannins. Beautifully integrated oak. Easy, satisfying, good stuff! [$H] |
