Wine of the Week | Clos Fontà 2010 [Red] This is without a doubt on of my favorite producers and always one of the top Priorats. A blend of Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon, all grown on the estate's slate-based "llicorella" terrain, aged 14 months in French oak. A superb wine. A deep, dark red color. Lots of rich, ripe dark berry fruit on the nose with spicy, brushy aromas mixed in, mineral notes as well. The palate's sweet and lush with lively yet smooth tannins over ripe berry fruit (blackberry/mulberry). A big wine, but beautifully balanced with nice acidity and terrific length. [$H] |
