Wine of the Week | 4 Kilos 2011 [Red] A pleasant surprise from the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. Grapes: mainly a local variety, Callet, plus a bit of Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 14 months in new French oak barrels (225 & 600 liter). A nicely balanced wine, a class act. Nice cherry red color. Nose is clean & delicate, complex with floral notes, blueberries, tea leaves & brushy spice. On the palate it's elegant, echoing the sensations of the nose. Clean, quality fruit, well defined tannins with a nice finish. Very good. [$H] |
