Wine of the Week | Valsacro Dioro 2010 [Red] Just out, this is Amador Escudero's top wine. Made from 100% vidau - very old vineyards with mixed grape varieties: mainly Tempranillo, with Garnacha, Graciano and others. Aged in 100% French oak for 17 months. Still very young, will improve in the cellar (I'm still drinking 2004). A beautiful wine. Deep, dark cherry red color. Great concentration of aromas: ripe dark berry fruit, vanilla, smoky peat, leather, minerals. Full bodied palate with plenty of "oomph", but clean & elegant, rich fruit, nicely balanced. A keeper, just outstanding. [$H] |
