Wine of the Week | Iņigo 2011 [Other] Made from 100% old vines Viura grapes, fermented in French oak barrels, with 5 months on the lees. A modern twist to a classic Rioja white. A wine with body and flavor that will cellar well and combine with a wide range of foods from fish & shellfish to cheese and pasta. Very good. A clean, bright golden straw color. Honey, pears and apricot aromas predominate the nose with a touch of cinnamon spice. A wee bit oaky on the palate, yet smooth and sweet with apples & pears, honey and spice. Good finish, fresh, clean, well made wine. [$M] |
