Wine of the Week | Montebuena 2010 [Red] This is one of the best values to be found in Rioja wine today. 100% Tempranillo with just touch of oak. 2010 was a very good vintage in the region and this Montebuena shows why. Ready to drink, but will cellar well for a few more years. Excellent. Nice cherry/ruby red color. Scents of vanilla and cherry/blueberry fruit dominate the nose. There's oaky spice & chocolate as well. On the palate it's smooth & easy to drink with a pleasant combination of fruit (strawberry/blueberry) with well defined, silky tannins. Good with food or on its own. [$L] |
