Wine of the Week | Salia 2009 [Red] Produced by one of Spain's best known wine & food writers, Víctor de la Serna, this blend of Syrah (49%), Garnacha Tintorera (30%) & Garnacha (21%) is showing very nicely. Still quite young; it will no doubt improve with a bit of cellar time. Excellent. Clean elegant nose, quite closed at this point in time, with rich & ripe red red berry fruit and an intriguing mineral scent. On the palate it's well balanced with excellent fruit concentration, a hint of spice and graphite/lead pencil with well integrated oak. Needs air, decant before serving. [$M] |
