Wine of the Week | Tres Ojos Garnacha 2011 [Red] Garnachas from Calatayud have always given a good account of themselves: quality, flavor and an excellent value. This old vines Garnacha is no exception. A good quaffer and just right for barbecues, pizzas or pasta. Not to be missed. Bright cherry red color with a hint of purple. Spicy and fruity on the nose with "garrigue" (thyme/sage), black pepper and cherry/berry fruit. Peppery and fruity on the palate, with raspberry fruit, plums and again the brushy "garrigue" flavors, typical of Garnacha. Very good, superb value. [$L] |
