Wine of the Week | Aticus 2007 [Red] The Cerrolaza family vineyards have supplied leading Rioja producers with quality grapes for generations. Now they make and age their own estate bottled wines. Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, Aticus Crianza is a class act. Excellent. Dark cherry-garnet red color. Beautifully complex nose with dark berry fruit (blackberry/blueberry), a touch of vanilla/caramel, clove and a delicate hint of peat smoke. Sweet & rich on the palate with nice acidity and full of flavor: blueberry/cherry, vanilla, spice, and 'After Eight' (cocoa/chocolate/mint). Silky smooth and long. A gem. [$M] |
