Wine of the Week | Gran Caus Rosado 2010 [Rosé] Good rosés are not always easy to find, but this one is a treat. Owner Carlos Esteva is well respected in the trade and makes some wonderful and distinctive wines from his Can Rà fols estate in the Garraf area of Penedès, not far from Barcelona. A lovely grenadine-like pink color, bright and clean. Loads of fresh berry (gooseberry) aromas on the nose with some nice herbaceous, fresh cut hay aromas as well. On the palate it's fresh and crisp with ample fruit (again gooseberry/cassis) and fresh herbs/hay. Great length and a pleasure to drink. Very good. [$L] |
