Wine of the Week | Lagar de Cervera 2010 [White] The first of the new vintage albariños are just beginning to hit the market. Lagar de Cervera is always a good reference point for both the region and the vintage. The wine shows well, in many ways similar to the '09 vintage. A good wine and from what looks like a pretty good year for albariños. Pale straw color. Modest, but pleasant nose with citrus (lemon/lime, orange zest), minerals and hint of orange blossoms. On the palate it's crisp, dry and fresh, repeating the citrus and mineral elements that appear on the nose, along with some fruity flavors (peach), and a sprinkling of orange zest on the finish.
