Wine of the Week | Valmiñor 2010 [White] Made from 100% Albariño grapes, Valmiñor is an excellent example of this wine from RÃas Baixas region in the northwest corner of Spain. A restaurant favorite across the country, and especially appropriate to accompany for fish & shellfish. A delicious wine and a good value as well. The somewhat pale straw color belies the wine's intensity and flavor. The nose shows citrus (grapefruit) and apple with a hint of tropical mango and a nice flowery scent. On the palate it's crisp & fresh, lively with good acidity, some background minerality and tasty citrus/apple flavors. Very good and just the thing with oysters, lobster or fish. [$M] |
