Wine of the Week | San Romá¡n 2006 [Red] Right from the start, Mariano García's San Román showed great promise. Today it's a Toro classic and an excellent example of what the Tempranillo grape can do in the right hands. Excellent. Nice dark color with lots of wood-based aromatics: coconut, vanilla, and spice (clove/cinnamon); along with a good dose of fruit (blueberry/blackberry). The palate shows even more of the fruit component, followed by another blast of quality oak. Terrific stuff! [$H] |
