Kalimotxo

Apparently originating in the Basque Country, kalimotxo is popular with the younger crowd all across the country. It's also spelled "calimocho", but the Basque name seems more appropriate. It's simple, easy to make, cheap as they come and frankly quite tasty. I tried my first one today (7 July 2023) and was pleasantly surprised.

Ingredients

• Dry red wine (an inexpensive one)
• Coca Cola (the original)
• Slice of lemon

Preparation

• In a pint glass with lots of ice.
• Fill half way with red wine
• Pour in the Coke
• Garnish with a slice of lemon
• Enjoy!

Note:
1. It's a great summer quaffer and a good way to use up leftover red wine.
