Wine of the Week

Luis Caņas Crianza 2020 [Red]
Producer: Luis Caņas
Region: DOC Rioja

Mainly tempranillo with a small percentage of other Rioja varieties (garnacha, graciano, mazuelo, viura & rojal), nurtured 12 months in used oak barrels (60% French, 40% American). Rioja Alavesa (vino de zona).

Ripe berry fruit (blueberry/raspberry), bright & fresh with a nice spicy background (vanilla/clove) and a hint of toasty oak.
Rich and sweet, well ripened fruit lifted by crisp acidity. Smooth user friendly tannins. Very good.

A go to wine for any occasion, well priced and food friendly.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
